American Renaissance Pageants

About Our Name

"Renaissance Woman" one who exudes style, grace and presence while being active, engaged and knowledgeable.

Renaissance Women"Renaissance", means resurgence or reawakening. The pageant name was inspired by the Renaissance period, which marked the rebirth of art, literature and learning in Europe from 14th through the 17th century. It's the transition from the medieval Dark Ages to the Enlightenment and the founding of The United States of America.

Today, the name reflects the current rebirth of American patriotism signaling an increased interest in this country, its history, shared values and culture. And, we hope, a renewed interest in pageantry. In fact, the word pageantry was born out of the pomp and grandeur of the Renaissance period. The name also refers to the "Renaissance woman;" one who exudes style, grace and presence while being active, engaged and knowledgeable.
